Bonsai (I Think)

Sculpted tree from the Chinese Classical Garden near downtown Portland. Or is "bonsai" only Japanese?

  1. I love how the pot is level, but the entire tree is leaning yet the branches aren't at an angle. It's like they grew it sideways and then set it up straight.

  3. What a cool photo. Love way the tree angles (reminds me of a tiny version of the trees in my back yard) and there is something wonderful about the color of the tree against the gray tone of the rest of the photo. Lovely.

  4. It reminds me of the famous leaning tree on the rock in Monterey.

  8. Nice photo!

Bonsai originated in China, but "bonsai" is the Japanese word for it.
