Call for Questions

Seems to be a lot of you out there who are purchasing some nice digital cameras or who have a growing interest in photography. I'm kickin' around the idea of offering a weekly photography tip or tutorial as part of this blog.

So whaddaya wanna know? I'll see what I can do to share what I've learned and point you to resources that I've found helpful. So toss me your questions and let's get started!

  1. I don't have to many options on my digital camera right now, but hopefully sometime this year we will be able to get a new digital camera with a little more options. I'm sure when we get our new camera I will have lots of questions...but for now, I will be waiting to see what tips you give us!

  2. I have all kinds of questions! I am very happy that you want to offer this opportunity!

I guess first things first. Maybe what to do with photos when you transfer them to your computer, like tips on Picasa? (Albums vs. folders, filing, deleting, moving to folders) One question I have is why don't they disappear from the folder they are in when you move them to another, etc.

Also, best optimizing tricks in Picasa before going to Photoshop. Then Photoshop tips, shooting tips like lighting, settings, etc.

How about a sample picture and what you do with it each week? Or even better, a photo a week from a loyal reader who needs help and you do a "before and after" and tell how?

Excited about learning everything I can! Thank you so much for being willing to help!

  3. Love your blog! The photos are amazing!

Did you go to school to learn to take photos like that or was it just natural God-given talent? I love looking at photos, but I don't have a camera yet to be able to tell if I have ANY!

We are purchasing our first digital camera this weekend. I am so excited to be able to snap shots of my three DS5, DS3 and DD 6 months.

I look forward to seeing what other pics and tips you post here.

    God bless!

  4. I posted a request on freecycle for bubblewrap and your wife kindly responded.
Just thought it was interesting that my husband happens to be Chinese and that he went to college for photography. He went to a photography seminar just last night.
I showed him your photos and he was delighted!! They are really very goood.. and obviously you have a God given talent. Keep up the fantastic works. Toni

  5. Jenni -- No, I didn't go to school for photography, but I sure enjoy it. Just a hobby that I've picked up in the last year. Thanks for your kind comments! (My degree is in music, but I do graphic design and writing for a living.)

  6. TW -- Enjoy the bubble wrap! I'd love to see some of your husband's photography--does he have a website? Thanks for visiting and for your kind comments!
